RoleCall Usage Guidelines
Effective Date: April 14, 2026
Last Updated: April 14, 2026
RoleCall is a private AI-powered creative writing tool. These guidelines govern how you use your account and the Service. They do not govern what you create — content publishing policies are handled by our companion platform, Plotlight Studios.
By using RoleCall, you agree to follow these guidelines.
•1. What RoleCall Is
RoleCall is a subscription-based software tool for:
- — AI-powered creative writing and roleplay
- — Managing characters, presets, lorebooks, and personas in your private library
- — Connecting your own AI provider API keys (BYOK)
- — End-to-end encrypted private chat sessions
RoleCall is a tool you use privately. It is not a content hosting platform, a social network, or a public marketplace.
•2. Account Conduct
2.1 One Account Per Person
You may not create or maintain multiple accounts. If you need to change your account details, use the settings page or contact support.
2.2 No Account Sharing
Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login credentials, Recovery Phrase, or session tokens with anyone.
2.3 No Ban Evasion
If your account has been suspended or terminated, you may not create a new account to circumvent the restriction. Ban evasion results in immediate termination of the new account.
2.4 No Impersonation
Do not impersonate other users, RoleCall staff, or any real person through your account profile or behavior on the platform.
•3. Prohibited Uses
3.1 Illegal Activity
Do not use RoleCall for any activity that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction.
3.2 CSAM — Zero Tolerance
Child Sexual Abuse Material is illegal regardless of context, privacy, or encryption. CSAM in any form — including AI-generated fictional content depicting minors in sexual situations — is prohibited. If CSAM is discovered through any means (reporting, investigation, law enforcement request), the account will be immediately and permanently terminated, and the violation will be reported to NCMEC and relevant law enforcement.
End-to-end encryption does not make illegal content legal. We cannot read your encrypted chat data, but this does not grant permission to create illegal content.
3.3 Harassment
Do not use RoleCall's features (group chat, shared content, or any communication channel) to harass, threaten, stalk, or harm another person.
3.4 Service Abuse
Do not:
- — Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
- — Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Service's infrastructure
- — Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- — Attempt to access other users' accounts or encrypted data
- — Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities (report them to boxoffice@rolecallstudios.com instead)
3.5 API Key Abuse
When using BYOK, you are responsible for:
- — Complying with your AI provider's terms of service
- — Any charges incurred on your API keys
- — Not using RoleCall to circumvent provider rate limits or content policies
•4. Subscription and Payment
4.1 Honest Use
Your subscription is for your personal use. Do not resell, sublicense, or transfer your subscription access to others.
4.2 Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us at boxoffice@rolecallstudios.com may result in account suspension.
•5. Group Chat Conduct
Group chat is a shared space. When participating in group chats:
- — Respect other participants
- — Follow the group's established rules and themes
- — Do not spam, flood, or disrupt group sessions
- — Do not share another participant's messages outside the group without their consent
Group chat messages are NOT end-to-end encrypted. See our Privacy Policy for details.
•6. Privacy of Others
6.1 No Doxxing
Do not share or threaten to share another person's private information (real name, address, phone number, workplace, etc.) through any RoleCall feature.
6.2 Chat Privacy
Do not share screenshots or exports of private chat sessions that include another person's content without their consent.
•7. Encryption and Recovery Phrase
7.1 Your Responsibility
Your Recovery Phrase is the key to your encrypted data. We cannot recover it for you. Store it securely.
7.2 No Key Sharing
Do not share your Recovery Phrase with anyone, including RoleCall staff. We will never ask for your Recovery Phrase.
•8. Consequences
8.1 For Guideline Violations
| Violation | Consequence |
|---|---|
| CSAM | Immediate permanent ban + law enforcement report |
| Harassment | Warning → suspension → ban |
| Ban evasion | Immediate ban |
| Service abuse / hacking attempts | Immediate ban |
| API key abuse | Warning → suspension |
| Chargeback without contact | Account suspension |
| Account sharing | Warning → suspension |
8.2 Suspension vs Termination
- — Suspension is temporary. Your account and data are preserved. You cannot access the Service during the suspension period.
- — Termination is permanent. Your account is closed and data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
8.3 Appeals
If you believe an action was taken in error, email boxoffice@rolecallstudios.com with your account email and a description of the situation. We review all appeals.
CSAM violations cannot be appealed.
•9. These Guidelines Will Change
RoleCall is evolving. These guidelines may be updated as the Service grows. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of RoleCall after changes constitutes acceptance.
